The city of Monza is full history and attractions such as the Duomo, the famous Villa Reale and the Park of Monza, home of the famous racetrack. While riding your bike you’ll enjoy monuments and nature, staying away from traffic and chaos of the city!

After leaving the Church of Santa Maria in Strada, Nome Guida will take you to visit the Duomo of Monza. The Duomo of Monza is a very important example of Gothic style, built between the fourteenth and the seventeenth century, and is located in Piazza del Duomo, in the heart of the city. The Cathedral presents a complex and monumental structure, is rich in furnishings and decorations and holds treasures of inestimable value. Just a small ride from Piazza del Duomo is the Piazza Trento e Trieste, where you can see the famous Monumento ai Caduti, a monumental sculptural group made by the sculptor Enrico Pancera in 1932.

Another stage of this ride in Brianza is the Arengario of Monza, a historic building located in the city center, in Piazza Roma from where all the main streets of Monza start. The Arengario, dating back to the thirteenth century, is the old Town Hall of Monza. Built next to the historic market square, the Arengario is the most important civil building in the city and is the symbol of communal indipendence.Continuing to ride in the charming streets of Monza, you will soon reach Chiesa di San Pietro Martire in Piazza San Pietro Martire. This church dates back to 1300 and is dedicated to a Dominican monk. Inside the church, you can see some fragments of paintings of 1300 and the altar that preserves the urn of San Prospero martyr. Another important church of the city is the church of S. Maria e S. Agata dating back to 1200 and originally belonged to the community of Umiliati of S. Agata.

After leaving the church, Nome Guida will take you to discover the beautiful villas of Monza, starting from Villa Archinto Pennati, the most important neo-classical building in the city, erected after the construction of Villa Reale. Built in 1829 on the basis of a project by Luigi Canonica, the villa is built around a central building and two wings that enclose a courtyard. But the most important Villa of Monza is definitely Villa Reale, known throughout Italy for its extraordinary beauty and now the seat of important exhibitions and events. Villa Reale was designed by architect Giuseppe Piermarini, who was commissioned in 1777. The villa was built and completed in just three years. Today Villa Reale, which is next to the Park of Monza, is a venue for cultural purposes and high institutional representation.

To finish the tour of the Monza’s Villas, Nome Guida will take you to visit Villa Mirabello and Villa Mirabellino a stately home built in the eighteenth century. Both villas are included inside Parco di Monza, a very beautiful park. This park is considered one of Europe’s historic parks; the surface of the park measured 688 hectares and is located north of Monza, between the towns of Lesmo, Villasanta, Vedano al Lambro and Biassono. With its splendid Royal Gardens, the park is a complex of high historical value, architectural and last but not least, landscape and is included in the Regional Park of the Lambro Valley. One of the most famous landmarks of the park, known throughout the world, the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza that from the ‘20s hosts the most important automotive events in the world including the world championship of Formula 1.
