Around Milan / Milan Skyline

This tour will guide you to discover the most modern part of Milan and its fascinating skyline. While riding your bike you will discover the brand new skyscrapers of the city and admire the fascinating architecture of modern buildings, that will become part of the history of this beautiful city. Our guide will keep you away from the traffic, allowing you to enjoy a different Milan while discovering new roads and paths!

Once all the participants are gathered, with helmets on and cameras ready to shoot, Nome Guida, will take you on a journey into the new vibrant and hectic Milan. The starting point of this tour Stazione Centrale, the Central Station of the city. The Central Station, opened in 1931, is a place full of history and is the main Milan railway station and the second in Italy for number of passengers.

The main entrance of the station overlooks Piazza Duca D’Aosta and is 200 meters wide. On the terrace of the “Galleria delle Carrozze” you can see two winged horses, art work of Armando Violi, representing “progress, driven by the will and intelligence.”
Maybe not everybody knows that the current Central Station has replaced the old central station of Milan that was in Piazza della Repubblica and was abandoned because it could no longer handle the rail traffic moving to and from the city

Once back on your bikes, Nome Guida will take you to the Centro Direzionale of Milan, located north of the city center, that collects the project of Porta Nuova district. Cycling among skyscrapers and brand new buildings, that won of important awards for architecture, you will lose yourself in the suggestive charm of Torre Diamante, a skyscraper of 140 meters that has a shape similar to a diamond and see one of the symbols of the old Milan: Pirelli Tower, commonly it called the Pirellone, which was built between 1956 and 1961. In front of the Pirelli tower you can see the new Palazzo della Regione, a tower of 161 meters of height that allows you to enjoy a breathtaking view from the 39 floor (if you do not believe us, check out our gallery!)

After admiring the highest skyscraper in Milan, Nome Guida will take you to Piazza Gae Aulenti, the heart of modern Milan. Within this elevated square, it stands the imposing Unicredit Tower, with its 231 meters height is the highest skyscraper in Italy. Piazza Gae Aulenti is a very busy intersection and its offices, shops and cafes have already become one of the city landmarks. A few turns of wheel from the square, you will see Bosco Verticale, a complex of two residential buildings with a unique feature in the world; the palaces are in fact covered with more than two thousand. For its really special feature this project won the award for the most beautiful skyscraper in the world in 2015.

After these extraordinary heights, it’s time to get back to earth! Nome Guida is now ready to take you to the Garibaldi area, an ancient and at the same time modern district, which binds to the area of the city thanks to Corso Como, a pedestrian street – and of course cycle – full of cafes, restaurants, trendy shops that has always been one of the symbols of Milan’s nightlife. Leaving Corso Como behind, you will cycle a few meters to get into Corso Garibaldi, another pedestrian street where you can admire shops, churches, historical palaces, cafes and a lot of pubs which you will find very crowded especially at Happy hour time.
